The first weekend of British F4 got underway at Donington Park circuit – with wild weather patterns, the weekend was an exciting one to say the least. It saw a brilliant start for Rowan as he took home two trophies in his very first weekend.

After qualifying, Rowan started 18th in the first race but this didn’t stop him charging his way through the fighting pack. He made it up to 11th, up 7 places in one race.

This charge up the grid meant Rowan found himself 3rd on the rookie podium alongside Bart Harrison in 2nd and his Argenti teammate Yuanpu Cui in 1st place.

Sunday saw the worst of the British weather but the second race still went ahead (with race 3 postponed). After a lap one incident, Rowan had to pit, sending him all the way to 22nd. But like the race before, he charged through the pack and achieved another rookie third.

Rowan said: “The season has officially started! It’s been a great weekend and to have maximised our races to come away with two podiums and the Pirelli Hardest Charger Award, especially on my debut weekend, is a good feeling.

“Of course, I’m here to win but the season is long and it’s about learning and gaining experience as the season progresses. I can’t wait to continue driving round some of the UK’s most iconic circuits, representing Sheffield and South Yorkshire as I go.”

Rowan was awarded the Pirelli Hardest Charger Award for completing the most overtakes in the weekend.
